Since legal work is so diverse and dependent on unascertainable variables it is very difficult to commit to a fixed fee on all matters. Litigation by its very nature is dependent on the actions of the opposing party and a law firm can therefore not predict whether a matter will resolve quickly or be forced on to Trial by the actions of others.

This is why Attorneys cannot commit to a fee up front.

In respect of any matter for which our firm does not have a predetermined fee, clients will be charged at an hourly rate ranging from R500 per hour to R3 000 per hour depending on the nature and complexity of the matter. This rate is discussed and agreed upfront before the brief is undertaken.
